Hello, I’m Katie Stearns!

I am an artist, surface pattern designer, and art entrepreneur. I live in a small town called Carefree, nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Arizona Sonoran Desert.

My creative journey started more than twenty years ago when I decided to live a more creative life. After careers in both business and healthcare, I picked up a paint brush and never looked back. That moment sparked the beginning of my full-time artistic career, where creativity became not just a passion, but a way of life.

Throughout the years, I’ve explored a wide range of artistic mediums, from oil and water media to relief printing, digital art, and surface pattern design. This rich and varied experience deeply influences my work, giving my designs a distinctive, eclectic quality. Each design is a fusion of techniques, textures, and influences—sometimes bold and expressive, other times intricate and delicate—all shaped by my years of exploration across different artistic disciplines. Every design reflects the depth of my creative journey.

For me, creating art and designing patterns is more than a process—it’s an emotional and vibrant translation of how I see and interpret the world. Each brushstroke, carved line, or digital motif is a reflection of my experiences, inspirations, and the ever-evolving language of my artistic voice.

When I’m not creating artwork or designing pattern collections, I enjoy spending time in nature’s embrace with my husband, Rob, and my two horses, Annie and Prince.
